Awesome! Your PC power supply is probably resetting itself. Some of those PC power supplies need a decent constant load in order to stay turned on so a lot of people will wire up a 5 Watt power resistor to one of the 5V power lines. I generally avoid using PC power supplies to power controller boards and sensitive low current draw circuits as they can dump a lot of current very quickly if you wire something incorrectly and you'll let out the magic smoke. They can work OK as a source for a bench power supply if you are careful and put fuses on the outputs or use an adjustable regulator (preferably along with current adjustment) to make them more useful. Other than that they're good as a power source for larger DC motors and stepper motors. I've been meaning to write up a bit on bench power supplies so I should probably get on that... You'll probably be just fine using batteries since it's only drawing power when it's turned on. I don't think that soundboard draws much power. It's really only the servos that are drawing a lot of power and if they're small analog servos it's probably not that much. Just get some extra batteries to have on hand just in case. I forgot to mention that for posting images I use photobucket. You just paste an image link into your post and it shows up- super easy. Looking forward to seeing it work!

And the last 3. I've still got to get him mounted on the bookcase and route the power wires, but I think he's looking okay so far!

Wow- that's super cool! I like the use of a universal joint for the neck mechanism. It looks like the legs are fixed at the feet so when the leg servo moves the whole body kind of bobs up and down.

Sorry it's taken so long to post a video, but here's "Roger" in action tonight during our home haunt. Jerome, thanks again so much for all your patience and help, I couldn't have done it without you. (So technical issues again with my video posting it looks like.....it appears on my screen that the video will show up when I post my comment, but then I notice after I post it that it doesn't show up. I'm not sure how to fix that. I pasted the photobucket url into the video insertion box and it pops up with a generic box with the photobucket logo and the message "video will appear here", but after I post my comment, it doesn't have any video.)

Hmmm.... I've never used video with Photobucket. With YouTube videos you just paste the URL in the insertion space.

I think I finally got the video to work, lol. Had to use one my sister took and uploaded to my youtube account. It was raining that night so there's a lot of background noise because he was placed sorta next to the downspout from my carport, and it was so dark that it's hard to see his beak moving, but it really does move! If I can get my phones video to upload to youtube, I'll post an actual walkthrough of our whole "swamp/cave" carport area! Apparently Samsung Galaxy's have some sort of issue with sharing video that no other phone manufacturers have, and I'm really trying to figure out a way around it. It makes the video super blurry to the point that you can't even tell what's happening. I think it has something to do with my phone wants to send over mms which compresses the video so badly it's just a blurred mess. It looks amazing on my phone, but when I try to share it through text, email, or photobucket, it's horrible. I think youtube may be the winner though....hopefully!
