The Elmo has a At5561D Chip in it to control the motor. I want to know If I can program the Arduino to move the Dc motor back and forward, or do I have to find a way to use the chip? I also would like to know do I have to buy Visual show automation or can I just create a sound to control the movement of the motor?

Is there any pictures and/or videos you can post of your current progress? What are you looking to achieve in the long run? Your ultimate goal? Are you looking for battery operated portability or permanent installation? Are the motors servos or gear motors and how many are there to deal with? All internal electronics and control or driven by external computer? Are you familiar with (VSA) control and Arduino microcontrollers?
Any information you can share will help the process move along.
