Hello All! The long story short is that I designed this awesome Ursula cosplay with the idea that the tentacles could be attached to my own legs which would mechanically make the tentacles move so that it would appear like I am actually walking on 6 tentacles (yea - the sea witch looks like an octopus, but she only has 6 tentacles - not 8- in the cartoon!!). But, my whole contraption is failing. In an effort to save the day, I am hoping I can turn to animatronics to wind up the fishing line I have attached now. Video (sorry, I had to split it into two awkwardly to get it to fit) Ursula1.mp4 (1002.03 KB) Ursula2.mp4 (388.87 KB) My biggest concern right now is where I would mount all of servos, batteries, and the board. My first thought is to create some kind of exoskeleton around my abdomen and attach everything to that. But, I don't know how to do that. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or does anyone have any better ideas? EDIT: In case it didn't come across, I haven't done ANY animatronic stuff before so any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd mount the servos and battery pack in a backpack type arrangement- it could be as simple as a flat plywood board with some back padding and straps. You may also want to change the fishing line for some thin 1/32 braided metal cable since fishing line will stretch and it doesn't handle abrasion well. For servos You might try sail winch servos since they can do multiple turns and they already have a winding drum attached.
